| Step 1. |
Open the folder so that you have 6 panels facing you. |

| Step 2. |
Insert an A4 size notebook or the one provided on the last panel where it says “ Place notebook here”. Be sure to slide the back page cover of the notebook into the pocket only. |

| Step 3. |
Rule up the first page of your notebook as shown in the example on the last panel of the folder. You should have 5 columns in all. |

| Step 4. |
The student will now write down the troublesome words ( commonly known as “Spelling Demons”) as given to him/her by the teacher/parent on the first column titled “Your Spelling Words”. |

| Step 5. |
Student now covers this column with the flap – LOOK, SAY, COVER, WRITE & CHECK. Student now has a look at the word, says the word, covers the word, writes down the word, and lastly checks the word by opening the flap. The process is repeated until the correct spelling is achieved. |

| Step 6. |
When a particular word is “mastered” by the student, the teacher/parent will instruct the student to write the word in the panel titled “Words that I have Mastered This Year”. This will highlight the progress each student is making throughout the school year. |

| Step 7. |
When you get your book, each teacher/parent will instruct their student to write down the most common “Spelling Demons” in the 2 panels provided, titled “Common Spelling Demons”. Write down as many of these troublesome words as you wish to practice. Naturally, each teacher/parent will decide the appropriate words for each Student/Grade/Year level. THE GOAL IS TO “MASTER” THESE WORDS THROUGH REPETITION. |
